Instructor Biography: TIM GATTON

Tim Gatton has over twenty-five years of experience in the field of telemetry. Since the late 1970s, he has worked first as a user in applying cutting edge telemetry for advanced programs, then in systems engineering and customer applications for companies such as EMR, Veda Systems and Veridian Systems. Currently he is employed at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems as the product line manager for recorder and multiplexing products. Mr. Gatton's duties at General Dynamics AIS also include teaching an 8-hour Applied Telemetry course to all new hires.

From 1975 to 1984, Mr. Gatton worked in the classified environment for EG&G Special Projects (now part of JT3) with a focus on RF, recording systems, decoding, and computer systems. From 1984 to 1994, Mr. Gatton became a senior applications engineer and then (starting in 1988) a product line manager at EMR/Loral Data Systems, in Sarasota, FL, where he traveled worldwide, designing and implementing telemetry and recording systems. From 1970 to 1974, he served in the US Air Force, where he worked on targeting computers for fighter planes.

Mr. Gatton obtained his degrees while attending part time at both Clark County Community College and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
